Sorcerer (15" tall)

Sorcerer was inspired by the Nkisi figures of the Congo, which were made by the shamans of the tribe. A ritualistic driving of nails into the figures activated the protective functions of the spirit. Sorcerer is my way of paying homage to this visually fierce and psychically powerful figure.
